Water Conservation in Landscaping

The State of California's Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance became effective on January 1, 2010. Santa Barbara County has developed two draft application supplements to satisfy the State Ordinance:   




 

Documents

• Supplemental Application for Residential Water Use Authorization for single family dwellings with landscape area measuring between 2,500 s.f. and 5,000 s.f.

• Application Supplement in compliance with California's Water Conservation in Landscaping Act w/ Definitions for a project for an industrial, commercial, civic or multi-family residential use where the landscaped area is 2,500 square feet or more; for any new single family dwelling where the landscape area is 5,000 square feet or more; and for cemeteries.

• Definitions sheet contains definitions for many terms used in connection with the Water Conservation in Landscaping Act.
