Santa Ynez Airport

Development Plan (03DVP-00000-00025) and Conditional Use Permit (03CUP-00000-00042) for improvements to the Santa Ynez Airport with major components as follows:

    • Construction of 23 new hangers and hanger extensions of approximately 81,015 sq. ft.

    • Construction of six helicopter parking pads and 12 new hangars of approximately 45,400 sq. ft. on the eastern end of the airport, six for fixed-wing aircraft and six for County emergency helicopters.

Relocation of SBC Aviation Unit’s helicopter hangar and ramp area to the eastern end of the airport would provide for a more efficient and safe County emergency service.  The entire perimeter of the airport would be fenced with livestock and security fencing.

    Project Status

The project applicant has revised the project to reflect proposed changes to the grading plan and submitted revised plans on January 15, 2008. P&D is currently evaluating the potential environmental impacts of the proposed revised project pursuant to the Guidelines for the Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act
