Coastal Land Use Plan

The purpose of the Coastal Land Use Plan is to protect coastal resources, provide greater access and recreational opportunities for the public’s enjoyment, while allowing for orderly and well-planned urban development and the siting of coastal-dependent and coastal-related industry. The Coastal Land Use Plan establishes land uses within the coastal zone. The other elements of the County’s Comprehensive Plan are applicable within the coastal zone, however, where conflicts exist, the LCP takes precedence. The plan includes numerous policies applicable to development projects.
