Steering Group #2:  The Process

Ministerial Permitting Process Improvement

Minutes

8:30 am – 10:30 am, Monday December 8, 2003

Ellen’s Pancake House in Buellton

Attendees:  Anne Almay, Anne Coates, Alicia Harrison, Petra Levya, Jack Boysen, Lanny Stableford, Laurel Perez, Mark Manion, Paul Poirer, Robin Brady, Trish Martenson, Cecilia Brown, Tom Frutchey, John Mostachetti, and Jeff Thomas

Recap of PIT II’s presentation or recommendations (Paul Poirer and Andy Caldwell) before the BOS on Tuesday, Dec 2nd.    BOS took no action since they didn’t have recommendations from all the groups.

In order to get word out about PIT II, Paul will be presenting information/recommendations to the January 20th meeting of the local chapter of the AIA.  Laurel suggested either holding a separate meeting with the Community Planning Renaissance or combining it with the aforementioned AIA meeting might be worthwhile.

A discussion ensued of where we go from here in absence of any feedback from the BOS.  Paul Poirer felt that we don’t new ideas, just need to refine what we have.  Laurel concurred saying that each focus group needs to refine and “bullet point” their recommendations to present at PIT II’s January meeting in preparation for the next BOS meeting.

Tom explained that at some juncture all PIT groups will be getting together to review recommendations since there are many overlapping areas.

Suggestion made by Lanny Stableford that now might be an appropriate time to recirculate list of interested participates to include more people/reinvigorate subgroups.  Tom to recirculate.

A lengthy discussion of the planning and development department’s “Queue” process followed with an explanation of how it worked, problems, improvements and recommendations.

General meeting adjourned into each focus group where they reviewed progress to date and then reported back to full committee.

Next meeting date is Monday, Jan 12, 2004 at 8:30-10:30 at Ellen’s Pancake House.

Meeting adjourned at 10:35 AM.
